It was recorded in 1880 that British explorers captured a Sentinelese family off the coast. The goal was to get a prisoner, treat them well and give them gifts, and return them to the tribe. This was an attempt to make things easier between relations of the modern society and the tribe. Unsurprisingly, it did not go well.
