Pup ‘N’ Taco

Based out of SoCal, Pup ‘N’ Taco was known for its tacos, hot dogs, and pastrami sandwiches. Their first branch opened in Pasadena in 1965. By 1973, they had grown to 62 chains around California. Although the chain was known for having restaurants in prime locations, the mounting real estate costs were eventually responsible for Pup ‘N’ Taco’s undoing. It sold out to Taco Bell in 1984.
