In 1939, Country Kitchen developed a reputation as one of the frontrunners of the hamburger stand industry. Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, Country Kitchen became a national chain in 1958. Between 2011 and 2011, the chain closed nearly 200 locations due to an 80% decline in sales. It still survives today, but there are few remaining restaurants in the midwest.
