Buddy Holly, 22 Years Old
Buddy Holly, one of the most central figures of 1950s rock and roll, was signed to Decca Records following opening gigs with Elvis Presley and Bill Haley & His Comets. He was responsible for hits like "That'll Be The Day" and "Peggy Sue." He was married in 1958, and a year later, at the age of 22, he died in a freak plane crash. His music has been a long withstanding influence on artists like Bob Dylan, The Beatles, and Eric Clapton.
