Ed Young, Jr.
As the oldest son of Homer Edwin Young, senior pastor of Second Baptist Church Houston, it wasalmost expected of Ed Young to follow in his father’s footsteps. While he eventually did, it didn’t exactly start that way. In fact, he was actually playing basketball on a scholarship at Florida State University initially before he had a change of heart and transferred to Houston Baptist University in Texas. He eventually completed his Masters of Divinity at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Ed Young started off as an associate pastor in his father’s church, before being hired as the Sr. Pastor of Fellowship Church. Young’s ministry soon grew to the thousands, which prompted him to move into a permanent facility in Grapevine, Texas in 1998.
His international ministry has since joined the Ed Young Television Network, with many of his programs also being broadcast on E! and Roku, as well as over the internet. Young is also a best-selling author, having penned the book, The Sexperiment.
Unconfirmed reports put Young’s net worth at somewhere around $11 million.
