Cellini Salt Cellar Robbery
This beautiful work of art was stolen from the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna in 2003. Made in 1543 for Francis I of France, the Salt Cellar was hammered into the figures that you see. It’s also made of ivory, rolled gold, and vitreous enamel. It’s obvious to see why this priceless piece was highly sought after. It was transferred to the museum during the 19th Century.
