Cellini Salt Cellar Robbery pt. 2
On May 11th, 2003, a thief broke into the museum as it was under construction. There was scaffolding everywhere, which is what he used an entry point. He did end up setting off alarms, but because of the construction, the security assumed it was false. That’s how he got away with it. Nobody noticed it was gone until the next morning. They were stumped and stupified. The museum ended up offering â¬1,000,000 for its return, but that was never taken.
