Jayne Mansfield’s Untimely Death
In 1967, Jayne Mansfield got into a vehicle with her lawyer, her driver, and three of her children. Just before 2:30 A.M., the car crashed into a semi-truck trailer. The three adults all died on impact, but the three children survived with minor injuries. One of the children was Mariska Hargitay, whom is known to many as Detective Olivia Benson on Law & Order: SVU. Rumors circulated that Mansfield was decapitated by the crash.
