Investigators believed back then that the gardening store wasn’t all that it was made out to be. However, they failed to gather enough evidence to actually find out what it was hiding, and it took an additional 6 years for officials to finally gain a lead that would point out to something much deeper than they’d anticipated.
4. The Tip of the Iceberg
When the DEA arrived on the premises in June 2016, they discovered $180,000 in cash and two strains of marijuana each marked as “Chernobyl” and “Super Skunk”. There was also a sizable amount of cash locked away in a safe, but, as they say, this was only the tip of the iceberg.
