The world finally has received its first glimpse of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s brand new baby.
The newborn arrived on Monday morning at 5:26 A.M. (12:26 A.M. EST) weighing 7 pounds and 3 ounces. Harry, the Duke of Sussex, and Meghan have named the baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. He is seventh in line to claim the throne.
The announcement came from the Sussex Royal official Instagram account, followed by over 7 million people. The black and white photo showed Queen Elizabeth II meeting her new grandson, bookended on either side by her husband Prince Philip, Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland, and the happy couple themselves.
Archie will not be referred to as “his royal highness” due to rules surrounding the granting of royal titles. His parents could have chosen to preface his name with an aristocratic title, but decided against it.
