When Will and Ashley started going out, Ashley introduced him to his sister Hannah. She did this when they started to get serious because she wanted to inform him that Ashley and her sister came as a package deal. Hannah has Down Syndrome and diabetes, and Ashley had dedicated her life to constantly look out for her and protect her. She wanted Will to know that loving her would also mean committing to taking care of Hannah.
With that in mind, Will had a special day planned out for Ashley and Hannah. On March 8, Will proposed to Ashley in a field of flowers next to their home. But the special day wasn’t just for Ashley. Will also got down on one knee and asked Hannah for commitment, knowing full well that her answer was just as important as Ashley’s. Will asked Ashley to be his wife, and asked Hannah to be her best friend forever. Both sisters gave Will an emotional yes as an answer.
“It was the sweetest moment in my whole life watching Hannah be so happy and feeling so special.” said Ashley, “She will be a part of everything when it comes to the wedding. We may not know what the future will hold for Hannah, and I hope that someday she finds a sweet boy, but for now, I am so thankful she got to enjoy that moment that every girl dreams about.” According to Ashley, her sister will be with Will at the altar as they exchange vows. Will and Hannah will also share a first dance at the wedding.
