Hugh Jackman fights off skin cancer for the sixth time

Hugh Jackman has recently been doing really well, he was diagnosed with skin cancer in 2013 and since then he has been raising awareness about skin cancer and the necessity of wearing a sunscreen at all times. He was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma; it usually appears on the face and neck and is the most common type of skin cancer. Basal cell carcinoma is non invasive and doesn’t spread to the rest of the body or does very rarely, the basal cell carcinoma starts off as a small bumpy growth, mole or pimple on the face, nose and neck.

Basal cell carcinoma can reoccur like in Hugh Jackman’s case, and frequent check ups with the doctors are necessary to stop the re-occurrence. To stay protected from this type of cancer avoid the Sun, especially if you’re a red head, wear sunscreen SPF 30 or above, don’t use tanning beds, wear sunglasses, reapply sunscreen every two hours of being in the sun, always check unusual marks, bumps, moles and spots on your face and neck.
