"Borat" was a complete phenomenon when it came out in 2006. It's had fans quoting it for literally fourteen years. Sacha Baron Cohen revealed a few months ago that a sequel was finally complete after being announced in 2007, so looks like quarantine has been treating his creative processes well. The title of the film, "The Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan," is set to premiere on Amazon Prime on October 23rd.
The film has a sort of "Pretty Woman" plotline. Borat returns to America with the mission to deliver his daughter to Vice President Mike Pence, but not before he gives her a makeover. In a (gross) twist, Borat's daughter is also pregnant - and Borat is the father. Not right, we know. And then the pandemic hits...
Borat doesn't understand why everyone is quarantining, so when the reason is explained to him, he asks to stay with a random stranger. However, his views on social distancing aren't exactly the same as everyone else's. He hopes quarantine never ends! The trailer ends with Borat actually getting to Mike Pence - but he's disguised as Donald Trump. Turns out, this actually happened in real life. Cohen did this stunt back in February. Shows how dedicated he is to his craft. You can watch the entire film at the end of the month, and you better believe you're in for a whirlwind.
