An animal shelter in Oklahoma is capitalizing on the latest meme: storming Area 51 to “see them aliens.” OKC Animal Shelter has some aliens for people to see… and they’re significantly cuter.
“Come storm our shelter,” they wrote in a Facebook post that has since garnered over 11,000 shares. “We have great animals ready to protect you from the Area 51 aliens. Adoption isn’t that far out of this world! #stormtheshelter.”
The shelter also shared three photos of adorable pups wearing tinfoil hats. Fortunately, their out-of-this-world strategy appears to be doing its job: people are adopting these furry friends left and right.
The campaign was so successful that the Animal Welfare Department is working on extraterrestrial-izing even more adoptable pets. The response thus far has been phenomenal and more pets than ever are finding their forever homes here on earth.
