Little Free Library boxes have sprung up all over the globe. In fact, there are more than 75,000 of these cozy book homes available to anyone and everyone who stumbles across them. However, artist Sharalee Armitage Howard has crafted something straight out of a fairytale.
Howard renovated a century-old cottonwood tree after its core began to rot. The falling branches endangered cars and passersby. Howard repurposed the stump and turned it into a beautiful work of art that everyone in her neighborhood could enjoy. The hollowed-out tree includes front steps, interior and exterior lights, and titled, wooden books on the dental molding that sits about the swinging glass door.
Ok, this project isn’t quite finished… but I can’t wait to share it. We had to remove a huge tree that was over 110…

Howard shared a photo of her little free library before it was finished on her Facebook page. The magical treehouse immediately went viral. Now, everyone can enjoy a good book in a place that makes them feel right at home.
