44-year-old Captain Harvey had been plotting something horrible. On the very trip that the Dupperault’s were on, he was planning to kill his wife, Mary. It was later learned that Harvey had taken out a life insurance policy on Mary. His plan was to kill her while the family was asleep, then throw her overboard to make it seem like an accident.
