Things Go Awry
Unfortunately, Dr. Duperrault was a witness to the murder. The captain knew that he had to kill the witness, which then lead to the murder of everyone in the boat. The captain killed the doctor, then went to kill his wife, then the oldest and the youngest. Terry Jo stayed out of his sight as she went to bed early, and he forgot about her in his haste.
