Ali (2001)
This biopic illustrating the life of Cassius Clay, more famously known as boxer Muhammad Ali, was highly anticipated—it featured some of the biggest names in the biz. Unfortunately, the film fell victim to its production budget, which director Michael Mann claimed was responsible for its poor box office turnout. In total, Ali cost the studio $63 million in losses.
