“Gonna” is short for “going to” but only when referring to an action, not to a place

You say “I’m gonna eat lunch” not “I’m gonna Mcdonalds”. ‘Gonna’ doesn’t translate to “I’m going to eat lunch” and “I’m going to Mcdonalds” the same way!
