Just How Rare Is It?
Riley was born inside the amniotic sac, which then fell off once she entered the world inside the water. When the midwife pulled out the amniotic sac out of the water, everyone in the room was amazed. This was an extremely rare birth, with an only one in 80k chance in it happened. Because it is so rare, many consider it a sign of absolutely amazing luck! Most en caul births also only occur with premature babies, which is fascinating as Riley was a couple weeks past her due date!
