Saddam Hussein's Capture
Saddam Hussein was an Iraqi politician who served as the fifth President of Iraq. He was president from July 1979 until April 2003, a whopping 23 years. He was taken out of power by the U.S. government due to accusations of obtaining weapons of mass destruction and having ties to the terrorist group al-Qaeda. He was convicted of crimes against humanity in an Iraqi court in relation to the 1982 killing of 148 Iraqi Shi'a civilians. He was executed by the government on December 30th, 2006.
