Minnie Pearl’s Chicken
One of the biggest competitors of KFC was Minnie Pearl’s Chicken. Co-founded by entrepreneur John Jay Hooker and famous country singer Minnie Pearl. Although Minnie Pearl’s Chicken was at one point an enormous success with 500 restaurants around the country, it ultimately shut down due to its lack of cohesive menu items and recipes.
