You might assume that one of the most successful authors of all time, JK Rowling, would have a degree in English, but you'd be wrong. The creator of Harry Potter actually has a French degree from the University of Exeter, also learning about Greek and Roman Studies during her time there. Though she wanted a different degree, she says that her French lessons were "A compromise that, in retrospect, satisfied nobody."
