Rolling Stone recognizes the former Metallica member as the best bass player of all time. Burton performed with Metallica for the band's first three studio albums. "Kill 'Em All," "Ride the Lightning," and "Master of Puppets." He received a posthumous writing credit for the song "To Live Is To Die" from the band's fourth album. Burton died in a bus accident while Metallica was touring in Sweden.
