During the filming of the sequel to the 1974 action cult classic, Toby Halicki was struck and killed by a 141-foot water tower prop. The idea was that the water tower would fall after the film team was well out of the way, but close enough to get a well-lit shot. Unfortunately, the cable that was supporting this structure snapped and killed Halicki, his movie was never finished. It wasn’t until the 2000 remake of the original Gone in 60 Seconds that Halicki’s ideas were finally memorialized.
