These Are The Richest Mega Pastors in America

Bill Moyers

Oklahoma native Bill Moyers first started as an intern in the United States senate, where he caught the eye of the then Senator Lyndon B. Johnson, who helped him on his way to becoming a television editor. It’s believed that Moyers earned more than $20 million in taxpayer money for hosting several TV programs, although this allegation has never been confirmed.

From there, he’d decided to pursue theology and completed his Master of Divinity in 1959, after which time he became an ordained Baptist minister. He would later be appointed as the Associate Director of the Peace Corp and would serve as the 13th White House Press Secretary under Johnson from 1965 to 1967.

Since then, the now 81-year-old journalist turned pastor turned politician has become best recognized as a pioneer in freedom of the press and public broadcasting, as well as laying the groundwork for the media’s relationship with the President and the White House.

To this date, his exact net worth remains undisclosed.
