Leroy Jenkins
Although born to a prominent evangelist, it wasn’t until after being convicted of arson in 1979 that Evangelist Leroy Jenkins chose to change his ways and declared himself a born-again Christian.
He eventually started Leron Jenkin Ministries, where he earned a reputation as a con-artist after selling “miracle water” that supposedly healed his followers. However, in 2003, his ministry took a huge hit after it was discovered that the “miracle water” contained coliform bacteria, among many other harmful chemicals. After paying off a fine of a mere $200 for selling the water without a license, Jenkins moved to Arizona and took his ministry with him.
To this date, his ministry is still located in Scottsdale, where he continues to work as an internationally recognized televangelist. Jenkins currently boasts a net worth said to be around $4 million.
