"The Great Outdoors" and "Uncle Buck" would be nothing if John Candy hadn't been in the starring roles. His most notable performance was in John Hughes' "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles." His death was ruled as a heart attack, though there was never an autopsy performed. He left some roles unfinished, and was in the process of filming an adaptation of "A Confederacy of Dunces."
