His Style on Mork & Mindy Changed Landscape for Sitcom Filming
At the time when Mork & Mindy was airing, the traditional sitcom setup required two or three cameras. However, it wasn’t the most effective way to film the show—creator Gary Marshall found that he was missing out on comedic gold because Robin often ran around set. He decided to add a fourth camera to capture every moment. This multi-camera format was later adopted by a number of other shows.
