Everyone searched for Dennis only three to five minutes after he was last seen, but the boy was nowhere to be found. Park rangers were alerted to his disappearance. Soon, it began to storm, and by morning, nearly 2.5 inches of rain had accumulated. Dennis’ body was never found, despite 1,400 volunteers searching the entire area.
