The Grauballe Man
Although it’s never unusual for archaeologists to uncover bodies in bogs, The Grauballe Man, found in Denmark in 1952, was something very unique. Not only was he extremely well preserved with his hair and fingernails in tact, remarkably it was possible for archaeologists to reconstruct his death with the clues found on and around his body. Judging from a wound wrapping on his neck, from ear to ear, he seems to have been sacrificed, most likely in an attempt to get a better harvest.
