They ended up getting caught, but not in the way you’d think. A few months later, they committed a similar crime back in Ohio a few months later. Since the California Bank robbery was so huge, officials knew they had to be connected. The FBI linked the robberies and ended up tracing the connection to a single flight from California to Ohio. They recovered most of the loot.
