E.G. Bührle Art Museum Robbery
The Foundation E.G. Bührle Collection is an art museum that was hosting Emil Georg Bührle’s collection of paintings and sculptures. On February 10th, 2008, three men covering their faces in ski masks broke into the museum and stole four different iconic paintings that were valued at $162.5 million. They stole Cézanne’s The Boy in the Red Vest, Degas’ Count Lepic and His Daughters, Monet’s Poppies near Vétheuil and Van Gogh’s Blossoming Chestnut Branches.
