The robbers ended up getting away with R$160 million (around $76 million). The money was uninsured by the bank as they figured something like this wouldn’t happen. Police believe that around 25 people were involved with the heist from beginning to end, but they were only able to arrest eight of them. In the end, authorities have only recovered about R$20 million.
