Mae West’s play The Drag, an LGBTQ+ comedy-drama, earned her some more time behind bars. West was sentenced to another ten days in prison for the play, which was deemed “indecent.” Unfazed, she took a limo to prison and wore silk undergarments for a second time. The Drag never made it to Broadway and was later forced to close for its portrayal of homosexuality.
