Hal Holbrook had a long career in Hollywood. He won a Tony and an Emmy and was best-known for playing Mark Twain on stage and on screen. He appeared more recently in shows like The Sopranos, The West Wing, and Grey's Anatomy, and films like Water for Elephants, Lincoln, and Into the Wild, for which he received an Oscar nomination.
