This is just an example of what producers have to do to make the best of their background. There are only certain things that you can green screen into a movie, and generally, characters don't interact with green screen backgrounds, unless they're motion mapped. Instead of editing an entire staircase into this shot, it was easier to just build a replica of what the producers wanted to see.
