Harold Lloyd Lost Two Fingers in a “Prop” Bomb Incident

While posing for a publicity shoot on the set of Haunted Spooks, Lloyd remarked that the fake bomb was “producing an awful lot of smoke.” Seconds later, the bomb exploded, sending the photographer clear cross the room, blowing off the roof, and injuring the photographer’s assistant. Lloyd lost two fingers on his right hand and was blinded for a number of months.
