Starbucks fans, pack your bags. The world’s largest Starbucks location has officially opened in Chicago, Illinois and it’s already open for business! The store boasts five floors of coffee themed goodness as well as an outdoor seasonal rooftop space. The skyscraper shop offers everything from coffee favorites to gourmet pastries, to coffee cocktails.
This is one of the six Reserve Roastery locations the chain has opened. The others are found in Seattle, Milan, Tokyo, New York, and Shanghai. The store sits on the corner of Michigan Avenue and Erie street. It has about 35,000 square feet of space. Though it was previously a furniture store, the building has been completely redone and remodeled to fit the Starbucks feel.
The store has a gelato bar, grab and go bar, pastry section, coffee samples and flights, cocktail bar, and barrel-aged coffee bar. There are also tubes of coffee running through the building around the Reserve location.
There are floor to ceiling windows, a centrally located escalator, build-a-bowl granola bar, scooping bar, huge copper casks in the middle of the building, and so much more coffee themed decorations for visitors to see. One guest described it as “a cross between a coffee theme park and Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory!”
