Dreams really do come true, especially for Nathan Patterson. Patterson competed in a speed-pitch challenge arcade game, sending the ball flying at 96 mph. his brother captured it all on Twitter. It wasn’t long until the Oakland A’s took notice of the viral video.
Guys, we were just chillin at a @rockies baseball game, and my brother decided to step into a speed pitch challenge…he hit 96 mph ð³ @MLB Let’s get him signed! pic.twitter.com/g0fKrvUxzt
— Christian Patterson (@cpatterson_7) July 15, 2019Only 17 days later, the papers were signed and Patterson was on his way to a new career. Though the Colorado Rockies, his favorite team, didn’t take him, he’s certainly not complaining. “Time to focus even more, work even harder, and it all starts with your mindset. Go after your dreams and make them a reality!” he said in an Instagram caption.
Patterson isn’t new to America’s pastime. He frequently posts videos and photos on the field, practicing, or just playing a game with friends. He trains in Nashville Tennessee at the Parker Sports Performance.

It won’t be long until Patterson’s story is sold as the next big screenplay. The signing is just the beginning for the rookie. Patterson himself said “This story is not over. It is not the beginning. I am writing the next chapters and excited for this journey!”
