The Tang Dynasty was a Chinese imperial house that lasted for approximately three centuries from 618 to 907. And, as Mason explained, it is viewed as the golden age of Chinese art. It was a time when all branches of the arts blossomed, including music, literature, dance, and painting. Sculpture, too, enjoyed a prevalent level of skill and respect at this time, too, as illustrated by the skill seen in the woman’s lion piece.
