In 1973, Lee suffered seizures and headaches and was rushed to the hospital, where doctors diagnosed him with cerebral edema. Several months later, Lee died in his sleep. Although Lee was taking several medications, it was unclear what had caused Lee's brain to swell 13% larger than normal.
