This adorable duo is breaking the internet, and it's pretty clear why.
Herman the pigeon was rescued a year ago in Hilton, NY when rescuers realized he was unable to fly due to a neurological condition. Sue Rogers, found of The Mia Foundation, stepped in to rescue the bird after wildlife specialists prepared to euthanize him. When Herman isn't on the go, walking around to get his legs moving, he's safely resting in a crib that Sue set up for him.
Recently, Herman has acquired a new roommate, Lundy, a Chihuahua puppy with "swimmer's syndrome."
Sue briefly placed the pair in a cozy bed and from that moment, they were inseparable. Donations have been rolling in for The Mia Foundation on behalf of Lundy and Herman, money that will be used to help animals like them get the care and medical attention they need.
“And thank you also for the donations coming in,” said Rogers. “We really do need them as we have a few surgeries coming up soon! It brings me to tears to think that our little Herman (the pigeon) is known worldwide now! I’ve been called crazy for keeping Herman alive and trying to make his life a happy one. And Lundy… well, who wouldn’t love that sweet little nugget?”
