President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden's dogs Champ and Major marked the return of White House pets. Former President Donald Trump notably didn't have any animal companions during his term, and the welcome of the Biden's German Shepherds was an excitement for the public. However, their time seems to be short-lived. Major, the younger of the two pups, allegedly bit a security agent, and the dogs will be returning to the Biden family home in Delaware for a little while.
Major has been said to have slightly more aggressive behaviors, barking and charging, while Champ, 14, is calm. The President was injured in November after he tripped while playing with Major, and wore a boot to heal his ankle for a short time. No fault of the dog's, but Major is still a young and rowdy pup, and eventually he'll outgrow these behaviors.
Champ and Major are the first-ever rescue dogs to live in The White House. "Champ is old, he's 14 years old and he was extremely well-trained by the Canine Corps and he thinks he's Secret Service," Biden said, "but Major, who is a big, little dog, is about a year-and-half-old and the only rule Jill has and he follows it: Do not get up on the furniture."
