A 3,500-acre plot of land between the cities of San Marcos and Wimberley in Central Texas, the Freeman Ranch, is a working ranch devoted to various fields of research including forensic anthropology. Human remains are left there to rot so that decomposition processes can be studied. Not creepy or anything.
