Natalie was last seen by her classmates getting into a care with Joran and his two friends, Deepak and Satish, just outside of Carlos’n Charlie’s in Oranjestad, Aruba at around 1:30 am on Monday, May 30th, 2005. The following day and on the day of their flight, Natalee’s chaperones and friends waited for her at the airport. She never came. And, when they went back to the hotel to check up on her, all they found was her passport and packed luggage.
Natalee Holloway was nowhere to be found.
The Search Begins
Auran authorities wasted no time searching for the high school senior. The authorities, along with a few volunteers, checked the entire island and surrounding waters but couldn’t find any sign of her. Afterward, Natalee’s classmates and friends who’d been partying with her the night before told the authorities about Joran van der Sloot and his friends. However, once the authorities questioned the men, the trio insisted that they have no idea what happened to the high school senior after dropping her off at the hotel.
