A Deadly Trade
This photo was originally published in “Special Investigation: Inside the Deadly Rhino Horn Trade,” in October 2016.
This black rhinoceros was forcibly killed by poachers using high-caliber bullets in South Africa’s Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park just so they can collect its horn. The black rhinoceros is classified as critically endangered, with less than 5,000 left living in the wild today.
