A petition yielded 28 probable IDs for a woman whose body was found 40 years ago. In 1981, her corpse was found in North Yorkshire after an anonymous tip. Despite attempts, she hasn't been identified. Adam Harland, who heads the cold case review, said a March request for help has brought dozens of fresh leads.

She was found in 1981, although investigators suspect she had been there since 1979 based on her decomposition. At 5 feet 4 inches, she was considered tiny for her age (around 40). She was likely a married mother of two or three children. Her size four shoes and possible upper spine abnormality led her to hold her head at an awkward angle and made her stand out.

Authorities have long assumed she was slain, but there is no proof. In 2012, detectives exhumed her remains to acquire further DNA evidence. Her profile didn't match any databases of possible ancestors.
