Civil Rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. was arrested in 1956 in Montgomery, Alabama. He was participating in the Rosa Parks-inspired bus boycott in a protest against segregation. This arrest didn't smear his record, though, and he eventually won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964.
