On July 13, a Reddit user shared photos of a peculiar lumpy object on a California beach that resembled “an organ,” according to the photographer. The puzzling creature’s identity was difficult to pinpoint, and marine biologists told Live Science that it could be a type of sea slug (pictured here) or a limpet.
